(my topic and what I choose is the determinant of ownership according to the slide of The Research Paper) so:

Thesis statement:

The correlation between ownership structure and corporate performance(main)

The correlation between ownership structure and GDP and firm size (sub-mian)

Need to slightly mention the legal system as well, i.e. the common law and civil law with the ownership relationship

Research question:

Whether ownership structure affects corporate performance inthese countries?

Whether ownership structure is affected by the firm size and GDP?

You need to analyse whether these factors will have relation with the ownership structure.

And HOW they affect the ownership structure, e.g. how they affect the ownershipconcentration or cause large blockholders

Hypothesis:

You need to provide the hypothesis to test the thesis statement in terms of corporate performance, firm size and GDP.

H1:…

H0:…

Empirical strategy:

You might need to use the SDATA to analyse the linear regression or other methods but I don’t know so please help me find some useful strategy to do it !

Least square analysis(using Stata analysis)in terms of the corporate performance

Others (I don’t know) in terms of the firm size and GDP

Data:

TOP 40 firms in the UK,US, China, Japan, Indian

Their data and their company report

Some websites to find these data have included in the first file of The Research Paper

Dependent variables:

Corporate performance (Measure by Tobin’s Q, Return on asset, Return on equity)

And firm size—-such as market value…stock equity so on…

GDP

Predictors:

Ø % share hold by large shareholder (such table example you can find in the end if the online EXAMPLE RESEARCH )

Ø firm size

Ø leverage

Ø Industry dummy

Ø Country dummy

Ø Other dummy

I also add the researcher paper example online, just try to do it in its style!
